How Can I Examine and Confirm My Faith? (2 Corinthians 13:5) - Daily Checklist included
🕊️ It's been over ten years since I first encountered Jesus and began my journey of faith.
In the beginning, my heart was full of passion. I felt His presence in my everyday life, and I truly believed I was standing firm in faith.
But as time passed, I realized that I had started to lose some of that first love ❤️🔥.
Occasionally, I find myself wondering:
“Am I still standing in the faith?”
“Is my faith still real, still alive?”
✨ Today, as I read 2 Corinthians 13:5, I was challenged to pause and ask again—
How can I truly examine and confirm my faith?
In this post, I want to reflect on that question with you.
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.
Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”
— 2 Corinthians 13:5
In this verse, the Apostle Paul urges the Corinthian believers to check whether their faith is genuine and whether Christ truly lives in them. It's a personal invitation to examine and confirm our relationship with Jesus Christ.
🔍 What Does It Mean to “Examine and Confirm Yourself”?
It’s not enough to simply say, “I believe.” Paul challenges us to go deeper—to evaluate our lives and hearts to see if our faith is truly alive. This is a spiritual self-examination, not for guilt, but for growth and assurance.
🙋 How Can I Examine My Faith?
Here are five reflective questions to help you test and confirm your faith:
1. Is Jesus the center of my life?
- Do I genuinely believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior?
- Is He central to my daily decisions and priorities?
- Is my relationship with Jesus personal and real?
2. Is there fruit in my life? (Matthew 7:16)
- Do I see signs of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)?
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. - Am I sensitive to sin and living a life of repentance?
- Do I have a desire to obey God’s Word?
3. Am I remaining in the Word and in prayer?
- Do I love God’s Word and desire to learn it?
- Is prayer a regular and meaningful part of my life?
4. Is my faith alive even in trials?
- Do I continue to trust God in the midst of suffering?
- Do I seek His presence more than I complain or blame?
5. Do I delight in God more than in the world?
- Do my joy and passion revolve around God, or worldly things?
- Do I cherish worship, the Word, and the church community?
🆕 6. Is my faith reflected in my relationships?
- Do I demonstrate Christ-like love, patience, and humility in my interactions?
- Does my faith shape how I respond to conflict or hurt in family, workplace, or church?
- Am I growing in grace through the relationships God has placed in my life?

💡 Summary: Faith That Grows Through Examination
Examining our faith is not about doubting, but about growing. It is an invitation to come closer to Jesus, to stay aligned with Him, and to be transformed daily. We are not called to live perfect lives, but to live repentant and dependent lives.
Sometimes, the most powerful confirmation of faith comes not in silence or solitude, but in the messy, beautiful relationships where grace must be applied — again and again.
Let this not be a checklist of guilt, but a rhythm of renewal. Each question is a gentle nudge from the Spirit, saying: “Come walk with Me again today.”
🧎 Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for inviting me to examine my heart and walk honestly before You.
Sometimes I forget, drift, or become numb — but You remain faithful.
Help me to see where I am growing, and also where I am resisting You.
Give me courage to repent, grace to be humble, and joy to return to You daily.
May my faith be real — not just in words, but in love, in obedience, and in relationships.
Come and live fully in me again today.
Amen.
