💡 Jesus Christ: The Logos, Came to This World as Life and Light!! - John 1

✨Begin Today’s Meditation with Prayer

Dear Lord, I stand before Your Word this morning.
Looking back on my shortcomings from yesterday, I now expectantly wait to hear from You through John 1.
Let me understand the reality of Jesus, the Logos, and walk today in His light.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

1. Chapter Summary of John 1

John 1 opens with one of the most profound theological declarations in Scripture: “In the beginning was the Word.”
This Word is identified as Jesus Christ, who was with God and was God from the very start.
John affirms that Jesus is the source of life and light who entered the world.
John the Baptist declares he is not the Messiah but the forerunner preparing the way.
Finally, Jesus is revealed as “the Lamb of God,” and His first disciples begin to follow Him.

2. Interpretation in Context

Unlike the Synoptic Gospels, John begins not with a genealogy or birth narrative but with a divine proclamation of Jesus' eternal nature.
The term “Word” (Logos) resonated with both Jewish and Greek audiences, representing divine wisdom and reason.
John uses it to affirm that Jesus is not just a teacher or prophet but the divine Creator Himself.
Themes of “light” and “darkness” recur throughout the Gospel, presenting a choice to either embrace the Light or remain in darkness.
John the Baptist’s humility reminds us that our role is to point to Christ, not ourselves.
